Dr. Martin Baumohl is a board certified therapeutic optometrist who specializes in performing comprehensive eye examinations for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, as well as prescribing the latest corrective eyewear options including consultations for all of our state-of-the-art refractive surgery procedures.
Dr. Baumohl joined the Mann Eye Institute in 1999 and quickly became an integral part of our Humble Clinic and Surgical Center. In 2012, as Mann Eye continued to expand throughout the Greater Houston area, Dr. Baumohl took over in our new Spring location where he continues to serve the Spring, Woodlands, Conroe, Tomball, and surrounding areas with his exemplary supporting team. Along with a special proficiency in difficult-to-fit contact lens patients, Dr. Baumohl is a Certified Glaucoma Specialist, and is also directly involved in the Pre- and Post-Operative care of both cataract and laser vision correction procedures. He is extremely proud to be able to offer his patients the latest diagnostic equipment and treatment techniques available.
Dr. Baumohl grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1989 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He continued on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1994 from the University of Houston College of Optometry where he graduated with Beta Sigma Kappa honors and letters of excellence at every clinical level. For the first five years following graduation, he served as clinical faculty at the university in their primary care, pediatric, and contact lens clinics.
Dr. Baumohl is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. He has also been awarded the distinction of Adjunct Associate Professor for his work with optometric interns from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is counted on annually to deliver insightful lectures to both doctors and staff on a variety of topics. Dr. Baumohl is an avid lover of music and sports (both playing and enjoying), and currently resides in the Spring/Woodlands area with his wife Amy and their twin daughters Sara and Lily.
