Tran Nguyen D.O.

Dr. Tran Nguyen specializes in glaucoma and refractive cataract surgery.  She is a board-certified and glaucoma fellowship trained ophthalmologist.  She provides comprehensive eye care, including routine eye exam, and evaluation of cataract, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration.  

Raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Biochemistry.  After completing medical school at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her ophthalmology residency at Michigan State University followed by glaucoma fellowship at University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Dr. Nguyen performs glaucoma lasers, glaucoma filtering surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. 

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Nguyen is an active member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Glaucoma Society and Women in Ophthalmology.  Dr. Nguyen has interests in providing eye care to the underserved.  She volunteered with Kenya Relief during residency training, and volunteered with Austin Vietnamese American Medical Professional Society to provide vision screening. 

Dr. Nguyen speaks fluent Vietnamese.
