What Other Doctors Are Saying

Frequently Asked Questions

We have implemented multiple measures practice-wide to ensure your patients will get back to you for their refraction, glasses prescription, purchase of their glasses, and to resume their annual routine eye care with you. We have trained all of our staff from the front desk to scribes and doctors on how to navigate a co-managed/direct-referred patient during the course of their care with us. We also have periodic refresher meetings with staff to reinforce their original training. Additionally, we have an alert system. Any time a patient’s chart is opened, an alert pops up in the middle of the screen. We drive the message in the alert to tailor to your preferences on specific details. One of the standard alerts that automatically pops up reads, ‘Do not write Rx – pt to return to OD for Rx and continue routine eyecare’.

Another measure we have implemented is adding a statement on the patient disclosure form they sign prior to eye surgery. The disclosure states the patient understands that all of their optical services will be provided by their original eye care provider. With the mentioned steps in place, we are confident you will not be disappointed by our efforts to make sure your patient returns to your practice.

Yes. Our goal is for your patient to meet their surgeon prior to surgery. Our counselors are well trained and understand the importance of your patient meeting their surgeon prior to surgery.

Yes. Our surgeons are always here for you and your patients. The surgeon will also contact you via text message the day of your patient’s procedure to give you an update on your patient after the procedure is complete. Beyond the initial text, our surgeons believe it is important to keep good lines of communication open between our co-managing doctors and the doctors at Mann Eye. You are welcome to call, text, email anyone on the co-management team and the surgeon, as you need to. We are here for you all the time.

Yes! You are welcome to join your patient for his or her surgery. When you decide you want to join your patient’s eye surgery, please contact your PRC, they will be happy to coordinate the details for you.

We use the most advanced technology for the best possible refractive outcome. For cataract surgery, we offer the Catalys® Precision Laser System and the ORA® system. Our femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery gives patients a customized laser treatment while providing increased safety and accuracy for a better visual outcome. Using the ORA, our cataract surgeons can verify that patients are receiving the correct premium intraocular lens implant in “real-time” during surgery. We also have the latest in premium lens options.

For our Advanced LASIK procedures, we use the WaveLight® System which includes the FS200 femtosecond laser and the EX500 excimer laser. We also offer Contoura and Iris Registration. This allows for precise mapping of the cornea to find any imperfections by having a better focus on the surface and the curvature.

We have many different vision correction options if a patient is not deemed a good candidate for LASIK. These include PRK, ICL and RLE procedures to help patients enjoy reduced dependency on glasses and contacts, regardless of their prescription. Determining candidacy is why it’s so important to send your patient for a consultation. We will perform vigorous testing to make sure it’s safe for the patient to have surgery and to identify which procedure is the right choice for their unique vision and eyes.

At Mann Eye, we do things a little differently. We set ourselves apart by having a PRC to communicate with during the entire process. You will be informed when your referrals are received and when your patients are booked for surgery. Our surgical counselors make all post-operative appointments while your patient is in our office to ensure the patient returns to you for aftercare. You will be notified by one of our surgeons once the surgery is completed to learn how your patient is doing. Communication with the surgeon and PRC is vital, and we strive to keep that open to provide a great experience for you and your patient and to ensure we are on the same page. Our goal is a seamless experience for the patient leaving your office and coming into ours and all the way through to the procedure and aftercare.
